In October 2005 LASeR reached the FDIS stage (LASeR v1). In April 2006 LASeR first amendment will reach the FDIS stage (LASeR v2).
LASeR v1 is a superset of SVG Tiny 1.1 including stable features of SVG Tiny 1.2, i.e. those features that are taken from stable specifications: SVG1.1 for gradients, SMIL2.0 for audio and video. LASeR v2 (amendment 1) is a superset of SVGT1.2.
The compatibility of LASeR with SVG Tiny 1.2 will happen as part of Amendment 1 of LASeR. This amendment will contain all the features of SVG Tiny 1.2 that are not yet stable (i.e. have not reached the Proposed Rec
stage). The Amendment 1 is expected to be completed after SVG Tiny 1.2 reaches PR, towards the middle of 2006. Some other technologies are considered to enriched LASeR v2 (PDAM, DAM stage).
